About Jenn
Jenn MacDonald has taught for 24 years, and she has worked with dyslexic students for 20 of them, including several of her own children. She has logged approximately 30,000 hours of teaching time and has also led group classes in co-op and classroom settings for 17 years.
She teaches with Orton-Gillingham-based methods built on 20 years of hands-on practice. Her teaching is clear and structured, with thoughtful repetition and patient feedback, and she uses humor, games, movement, and encouragement so learners build confidence.
Her sessions teach two people at once. Your child is tutored, and you learn how to help at home, so reading practice keeps going between sessions.
What it looks like to work with Jenn
- Free reading assessment and consultation, about an hour
- A reading plan built for your learner alone, updated every two months
- One-on-one sessions, in person or online, with games throughout
- Parent training in every session, so you know how to help at home
- Free parent workshops and classes for current clients, as they are offered

Session price
$50 per session. Two sessions a week.
Your first visit, the assessment and consultation, is free ($150 value). You pay only for tutoring, and $1,400 of training and planning is included:
